I think I read somewhere that they drank scorpion blood when they were young, or American beer. I am not sure which is worse, but either of them is bad enough to explain why they were so cranky.

But didn’t you know? I’ve researched this quite extensively and as it turns out, the Nazis actually breathed. So breathing is obviously bad and makes you a Nazi.

Greg – it could be. Or it could be that the general atmosphere of abuse had more to do with it. It occurs to me that that might also be the case at a concentration camp. I’d be tempted to to anything to try to save my skin under those circumstances. In any case, keep husbands out of your toothbrushes, everyone!

Hey, Expert, where’s your source and what kind of dosage are you talking about? Hey, I got me a wild-assed theory: It turns out I had a husband who made me really stupid (it was a temporary thing, ended about the time of the divorce) and really willing to comply (ditto). So husbands must be avoided at all costs, right?

I was once sitting at a cafe in Cape Verde with an old post-aparthaied Boer and a relatively famous progressive activist American (you would know her last name) who was on her way to a conference honoring Baba Ram Das where she would be giving the keynote address. (In San Paolo). The South African, who I did not know well, was babbling about something he’d be doing in Detroit in the next couple of weeks, then suddenly out of the blue turned to my friend and said “Well, I hope I don’t run into any of those American Niggers. I don’t know how to handle them like I can handle the South African Niggers.”

It was really fun watching what happened right after that.

I once saw a documentary on old pro apartheid boers in South Africa. One of them ‘explained’ that, since swartes had curled hair, their heads were somehow curled on the inside as well. Which meant that they had lower intelligence. I wish I was kidding.
